Anker Flour Mill and Bakery, Vienna, Austria.16
May1946.Vats of dough about to be emptied in the
Anker Flour Mill and Bakers, among the largest
in central Europe. It employs well over 2,000
workers and supplies 30% of the total amount of
break now consumed in Vienna. Today the wheat
is supplied by UNRRA.50% of the flour milled,
is baked by Anker themselves and distributed daily
in Vienna chiefly by horse-drawn vans, owing to
the acute shortage motor trucks. Strict control
is maintained during all stages of baking. (UAV
