From the ICA: John Hocking, Assistant Secretary General of the UN gave a powerful keynote in #ICASeoul2016 Congress about the value of archives and archivists. He made connections between archives initiatives around the world to show the global impact that archives can have.

He also emphasised the role of archivists to make the connections inside and outside the profession, which could lead to an unexpected breakthrough in tackling war, poverty or climate change - "any archive can contain a clue to a global issue".
